The use of standardized information and communication technologies would enhance efficiency and reduce cost. mHealth involves cloud computing technology and devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and personal digital assistants playing a wide role in health care. mHealth results in making the eHealth applications and medical information accessible anytime and anywhere, that is also portable, secure and easy to use.

The growing mobile health field, with the wide variety of mobile health apps and new mobile medical devices that are consumer-friendly, patients have started using technology to monitor and track their health that is impacting the rise of telemedicine today.

There are a variety of ways in which Prognosys mHealth can potentially be used to provide health care services. Effective implementation, however, adds a new level of complexity, as simple phone dissemination to patients and/or healthcare personnel will not improve health outcomes alone.

Prognosys mHealth uses mobile telecommunications and wireless multimedia to integrate and develop a successful health care delivery system. It combines two distinct factors present within the context of developing nations: the inherent need for improved health care delivery and the increasing penetration of mobile phones to the most rural areas. Mobile networks cover more than 90% of the world’s population, and the proportion of mobile phone users already outweighs those without one. While Internet services require ground infrastructure, connection junctures, and heavy equipment, mobile telecommunications provide an additional benefit of wireless and hands-free technology that can be maximized in developing healthcare systems.
